President Donald Trump blasted The New York Times again on Friday, calling the newspaper “failing” and “desperate.”
He made his comments in two Friday morning tweets.
He wrote: “Just revealed that the Failing and Desperate New York Times was feeding false stories about me, & those associated with me, to the FBI. This shows the kind of unprecedented hatred I have been putting up with for years with this Crooked newspaper. Is what they have done legal?...
“....’This Russia Collusion Hoax was perpetrated in part by people inside the government, and in part by a compliant (Fake News) media.’ Mollie Hemingway. @TuckerCarlson @foxandfriends.
“The facts are starting to pour out. Stay tuned!”
He quoted Hemingway, a political commentator, who had appeared on Tucker Carlson’s Fox News show. Her comments had been noted on Friday’s “Fox & Friends.”
The president did not cite any specific report in his tweets, but Judicial Watch, which obtained 345 pages of records from the Department of Justice, noted on Thursday that New York Times reporter Michael Schmidt, in a 2017 email to FBI Assistant Director for Public Affairs Michael Kortan, offered the agency information about the Russia’s ambassador to the U.S. allegedly setting up a meeting between Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner and a Russian banker.
