A Florida judge will hear a lawsuit against President Donald Trump, charging the 45th commander in chief with violating the Constitution by profiting from the federal government through his vast real estate holdings.

U.S. District Judge Robin Rosenberg of West Palm Beach, just a few miles from Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate, will decide on the lawsuit filed by Patrick Goggins, a Broward County construction lawyer.

“I would argue that payment from any state or federal governmental entity to the Trump organization is prohibited under Article 2,” Goggins told The Palm Beach Post on Thursday.

Article 2 states the president’s compensation “shall neither be increased nor diminished during the period for which he shall have been elected, and he shall not receive within that Period any other Emolument from the United States, or any of them.”

Goggins told The Post that under the clause, the president can only earn $400,000 annually, receive free housing and expense money.
