President Donald Trump issued a tweet on Monday blaming losses in the stock market on Democrats.
“The prospect of Presidential Harassment by the Dems is causing the Stock Market big headaches!” Trump wrote.
Trump, who never hesitates to take full credit for increases in the stock market when he entered the White House in 2017, has been much less vocal about the Dow Jones Index this year as it has stagnated in 2018.
But a week before the midterms, the president sent out another tweet warning what would happen if the Democrats won the elections.
“The Stock Market is up massively since the Election, but is now taking a little pause - people want to see what happens with the Midterms,” Trump wrote on October 30. “If you want your Stocks to go down, I strongly suggest voting Democrat. They like the Venezuela financial model, High Taxes & Open Borders!”
