Tiger Woods had pot and four other drugs in his system when he was arrested in May for driving under the influence in Florida, according to a toxicology report released Monday.
The report said Delta-9 carboxy THC, the active ingredient in marijuana, was found in Woods' system when authorities confronted him May 29 when they found him sleeping in his vehicle, ESPN reported.
The other drugs found in Woods' system, according to ESPN, were Hydrocodone, the generic form of a painkiller branded as Vicodin; Hydromorphone, a potent painkiller known as Dilaudid; Alprazolam, a mood and sleep drug commonly known as Xanax; and Zolpidem, a sleep drug commonly known as Ambien.
"As I previously said, I received professional help to manage my medications," Woods said Monday in a statement through a spokesman, per ESPN. "Recently, I had been trying on my own to treat my back pain and a sleep disorder, including insomnia, but I realize now it was a mistake to do this without medical assistance.
"I am continuing to work with my doctors, and they feel I've made significant progress. I remain grateful for the amazing support that I continue to receive and for the family and friends that are assisting me," Woods continued.
Authorities found Woods' vehicle 15 miles from his Jupiter, Florida home at 2 a.m. on May 29, where officers discovered him unconscious in his Mercedes-Benz, which was parked awkwardly on the side of the road, The Associated Press reported.
Florida prosecutor Adrienne Ellis told the AP last week that Woods had agreed to plead guilty to reckless driving at an Oct. 25 hearing and take part in a program for first-time DUI offenders. The plea deal would allow him to ask a judge to expunge his charge from his record once he completes the program.
Woods, who has not won a golf tournament since August 2013, is not expected to return to the PGA Tour this year, the AP said.
