Democrat Jon Tester and Republican challenger Rep. Denny Rehberg are nearly tied in the Montana Senate race on the verge of Election Day, according to a
Rasmussen poll.
Tester, seeking a second six-year term in the Senate, is ahead by a point in the latest survey — 49 percent to 48 percent — which is the first time he has held any kind of lead in surveys since February. Last month they were tied at 48 percent apiece.
Among the 49 percent of Montana voters who have already cast their ballots, Tester leads 55 percent to Rehberg’s 41 percent. Tester is viewed favorably by 50 percent of Montana voters and unfavorably by 47 percent.
Rehberg earns 76 percent support from voters who are worried federal government will do too much. And Tester wins 82 percent of the vote from those who fear the government won’t do enough, according to Rasmussen.
