Democratic Rep. Beto O'Rourke has declared he will reject all funding from political action committees in his bid to defeat incumbent Texas GOP Sen. Ted Cruz in November -- but a closer look suggests O’Rourke’s sources of campaign cash are much more traditional than his campaign rhetoric might suggest.

Among his supporters: The pro-Democratic groups J Street and ActBlue, as well as retirees and individual donors heavily concentrated in the fields of education, law, and technology.
