The latest jobs numbers mark good news for President Donald Trump's message going into 2020, House Minority Whip Steve Scalise said Friday.
"President Trump made it clear when he ran for president that he wanted to get the economy going again," Scalise told Fox News' "America's Newsroom." "He wanted to stand up and fight for American workers, the men and women who had been left behind for the last 10 years. It is working and delivering for those very people. This is great for the president's message going into 2020. We want to keep this going."
Scalise also discussed Attorney General William Barr and his testimony before Congress, commenting that it's "ludicrous" for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to call him a liar.
"These are the same people that promised for two years there would be this collusion with Russia, obstruction of justice," said Scalise. "None of it happened. You are looking at great contrast here. You have the great economic news because our policies are working. President Trump is delivering for families."
Democrats, though, have done nothing on healthcare or anything to help American workers after becoming the House majority party, said Scalise.
"They don't want the talk about how great the economy is going because they don't agree with the proposals," said Scalise. "It is a shame because families are benefiting from this. We should be celebrating but instead, Speaker Pelosi doesn't want to see the policies work. They want to keep going after President Trump and his administration. People are tired of that."
He also noted that there is evidence of spying on Trump's campaign by the previous administration, and "they will have to answer for that."
