White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham, after President Donald Trump's slammed both of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and Utah Rep. Mitt Romney, R-Utah, at Thursday morning's National Prayer Breakfast, said she agrees people should be "held accountable."

"The Democrats should be held accountable for not only what they did to the president and to his family but the country," Grisham told Fox News' "America's Newsroom." "People need to understand what the Democrats did was dishonest and it was corrupt and it had no other motive than to take him out in 2020. People should be held accountable for anything they do to try to hurt this country and this president."

Meanwhile, Pelosi did not just tear up some papers at the State of the Union, but she "tore up a speech that had American heroes in it. She tore up a speech that had a vision for our country," Grisham said. "What's worse, she had the speech partly torn before she stood up to do it. She needs to be held accountable for that."

Pelosi should apologize not only for ripping up the speech, but also for what she has done to the country through the push to impeach Trump, Grisham said, adding she was disappointed, but not surprised, by Romney's decision.

"If he was listening, he would not have voted that way," Grisham said. "I am old enough to remember when Mitt Romney was doing all he could to become Secretary of State. I was there when he met with the president at Bedminster. I was there when he went to dinner with him in New York."

"I think he is flip-flopping," she added.

Meanwhile, Trump has not stopped trying to work with Democrats, "even as they've been putting him through this," Grisham said.

"That is how USMCA got passed, so he will continue to forge ahead for the country and try to get work done," Grisham said.
