Family of 6-Year-Old Spirit Put on Wrong Flight May Sue

The family of the 6-year-old put on the wrong Spirit Airlines flight on Dec. 21 is considering taking legal action, reported WINK News.

The boy's grandmother, Maria Ramos, told the news outlet that the airline still hasn't given her an answer as to how Casper ended up in Orlando, Florida, instead of Fort Myers, Florida.

"Come on; you have cameras all over this place. You have cameras in your plane. You have cameras all over. You're telling me you don't know what happened to Casper five days later, and it's under investigation? That makes me think that he didn't have a flight attendant," Ramos said. "Somebody took over him once they realized he was on the plane by himself. That's when they tried to take charge of him, you know?"

In a statement, Spirit Airlines said the boy was under the care and supervision of an airline employee the entire time, even though he was incorrectly boarded on a flight to Orlando. Once the mistake was discovered, the airlines let the family know, the statement said.

"We take the safety and responsibility of transporting all of our guests seriously and are conducting an internal investigation," the statement said. "We apologize to the family for this experience."
