The media becomes silent when its own polls don't show positive news for Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton, talk radio host Rush Limbaugh said Monday.

Limbaugh pointed to a Washington Post/ABC News poll showing Clinton's support dropping below 50 percent for the first time.

But ABC's "Good Morning America" chose to focus on the fact that the poll shows Clinton still beating GOP front-runner Donald Trump in a hypothetical head-to-head matchup, Limbaugh noted, event though her lead falls within the poll's margin of error.

"What they're not telling you is that Hillary used to be in the 60s in this same poll, and she is plummeting," he said.

NBC's "Today" show and "CBS This Morning" did report that Clinton's poll numbers are sliding.

"With an on-screen graphic crediting ABC, Charlie Rose said, 'Only 42 percent of Democrats in this latest ABC poll are backing her now,'" Limbaugh said.

Rose also noted that a majority of Americans disapprove of the way Clinton has handled the email controversy, which ABC didn't, Limbaugh noted.

"Over on the 'Today' show, Sheinelle Jones referenced ABC and said that the network's poll shows that her support among Democrats nationwide has dropped 21 points since July when the email story broke," Limbaugh said. "So ABC has chronicled a 20-point plunge, but they're not reporting it, because in the head-to-head she's got like a two- or three-point lead over Trump head-to-head."

ABC did report Clinton's plunging numbers, including with white women, on its website,  but even there ABC's political director Gary Langer noted that early polls often are not predictive of eventual outcomes.

"Now, if this poll had shown Hillary trouncing Trump, this 'proviso' would not be here," Limbaugh said. "If their poll showed Hillary trouncing Trump, there wouldn't be any reference to the poll being meaningless because it's so early."
