Democrats are "assaulting the victims of Obamacare" and calling them liars while claiming conservative news outlets are inventing stories about people negatively impacted by the healthcare law, Rush Limbaugh said Friday.
"You have Harry Reid and now Patty Murray, basically attacking ordinary people, claiming that all of these stories of suffering have been invented by Rush Limbaugh and Fox News," the conservative talk show host said
on his radio show.
New Medicare Warning: Obamacare Rule Changes Coming
Washington Democrat Sen. Patty Murray was the latest to go on the attack when she took to the Senate floor Thursday and urged people to "turn off the Fox News" and not listen to Rush Limbaugh, and, instead "listen to some real stories of real-life Americans who have been impacted by the law."
On Wednesday, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said Obamacare
"horror stories" were "untrue," and claimed they were "lies, distorted by the Republicans to grab headlines." Limbaugh wondered, if that was true, why there wasn't coverage of positive Obamacare stories?
"Do you ever ask yourself why you haven't seen a whole host of success stories with Obamacare?" Limbaugh asked. "There aren't any, are there? You seen any Obamacare success stories?"
The attack by Democrats took a more menacing approach, Limbaugh explained, when Michigan Democratic Rep. Gary Peters
threatened the license of a TV station for airing an ad about a woman with leukemia who said Obamacare was negatively impacting her healthcare. Limbaugh called Peters' actions "pure authoritarian, dictator-like, Stalinistic tactics."
The incidents showed Democrats were "melting down" over the healthcare law, Limbaugh maintained. He predicted the midterm elections would be a "massive shock" to Democrats facing reelection in November.
