Rupert Murdoch appears to have soured on Mitt Romney’s chances of beating President Barack Obama on the eve of Election Day.
“Everybody searching for any scrap of news about election tomorrow,” Murdoch said on Twitter Monday evening. “Plenty of straws to grasp for Romney, probably not enough.”
Murdoch’s latest tweet is a far cry from what he said about Romney late last month.
Urgent Poll: Do You Support Obamacare? Vote Here!
“Romney looking better and better while Obama seems devoid of anything new,” Murdoch tweeted on Oct. 26. “May try October surprise, bomb someplace! Remember Clinton?”
In that message, Murdoch apparently referred to President Bill Clinton’s order to bomb Iraq the day before his impeachment vote in Congress in 1998.
The News Corp. founder and CEO’s dislike for President Barack Obama is well documented — as is his reach.
Murdoch’s latest Twitter message had already been “re-tweeted” 188 times as of shortly after 7 p.m. on Monday.
