Twitter has backtracked on its earlier decision not to remove a vulgar tweet from liberal comedian Rosie O’Donnell targeting conservative commentator Ben Shapiro, The Hill reported on Sunday.
Shapiro posted on Twitter a picture of a response from the social media platform to show its change of heart.
After Twitter initially failed to take action, Shapiro suggested that if the liberal O'Donnell had conservative views, the social media platform would take disciplinary action.
O’Donnell sent the vulgar tweet to Shapiro after the two had a heated exchange following her apparent offer of $2 million to Republican Sens. Jeff Flake and Susan Collins to vote against the GOP tax bill, according to the Washington Examiner.
Shapiro was one of several people to criticize O'Donnell, emphasizing the illegality of offering money to public officials try to influence official acts.
