Special Counsel Robert Mueller's office is insisting it has no knowledge of a leak that would have tipped off a television crew about last month's arrest of political consultant Roger Stone.

Stone and his legal team asked the court to investigate whether someone gave advance notice to CNN of the pre-dawn arrest at his home. Mueller's team said there's nothing to indicate that happened.

"The Special Counsel's Office is aware of no information indicating that reporters were given any advance knowledge of a possible indictment from the Special Counsel's Office," Mueller's office wrote in a court filing, according to The Hill.

A CNN crew was situated in front of Stone's house the morning of Jan. 25 when a large group of FBI agents showed up and pounded on the door. Stone emerged a few minutes later and was taken into custody. He was later charged with lying to congressional investigators and witness tampering.

Stone and his associates immediately questioned whether CNN was told of the arrest ahead of time. The network has claimed all along that it had no knowledge of the raid, but rather relied on its journalistic instincts.
