Roger Ailes is writing a memoir about his long career in television news and politics, but how the 76-year-old former Fox News will discuss the lurid sexual harassment charges swirling around him remains to be seen.
CNN media reporter Brian Stelter
quotes a close friend of the ex-Fox CEO as saying, "The book is a priority for him now."
Ailes — forced out of his job last week following a sexual harassment lawsuit filed by former network star Gretchen Carlson — is said to be working on the project with Fox News contributor Jim Pinkerton.
Since Carlson's allegations, numerous other women have reportedly told of unwanted advances by Ailes, who has vigorously denied any improprieties.
"He may choose to respond in some way to the harassment allegations against him," Stelter says of Ailes' memoir.
Asked how Ailes is fairing since hastily resigning and being escorted out of Fox headquarters in Manhattan, Stelter's source said, "I think he's a realist. He understands that everything comes to an end."
