The Republican Jewish Coalition tweeted Thursday "we stand with Israel" after reports Hamas-backed Palestinians have steadily fired rockets into Gaza, wounding seven people.
"Israel is being inundated with Hamas rocket fire from Gaza," the coalition said in a tweet that included a picture of the devastation and text saying "180 rockets and counting."
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday ordered the army to take unspecified "strong action" as military units reinforced the border ahead of a possible escalation in fighting with Palestinians.
The Israeli military destroyed a cultural center in Gaza City, claiming it was a Hamas military base, while militants fired rockets toward Israel throughout the evening.
At least three Palestinians were killed in Israeli airstrikes, while seven people were injured by rockets fired into the Jewish state.
