Sen. Rand Paul told Newsmax TV on Wednesday that Republicans have plans to both repeal and replace Obamacare, despite Democrats' claims they will leave Americans without health insurance.
"My staff and I have been working hard on this," Paul told "Newsmax Prime" host J.D. Hayworth.
"What we've done is pull together the consensus ideas. The liberal elite want to say, 'Oh, Republicans have no replacement ideas.' Completely untrue. We've got several dozen bills that most of us agreed to. I brought them together under one bill, [the] Obamacare Replacement Bill, and most of these are freeing up the individual and the states to fix the problem."

Paul added Obamacare, which was signed into law by President Barack Obama in 2010, did the opposite of what it was supposed to do.
"The problem with Obamacare is it made insurance too expensive – so young, healthy people didn't want to buy it, and as a consequence, the insurance companies are losing money, going bankrupt, and then also charging people more and more every year," Paul said.
"Our plan would legalize the sale of inexpensive insurance for individuals, it would let individuals save money in, like, a health savings account, and then it would let individuals band together in association, so they can use the leverage of a large group to get a lower price and to get rid of things like preexisting conditions and other things that aren't fair."
Paul, an ophthalmologist, said his plan includes things like incentives for joining a gym and eating healthy, helping people buy vitamins, and options for opening health savings accounts.
