President Donald Trump is expected to spend several days in the U.K. this summer after attending the NATO summit in Brussels, according to news reports Friday.

Trump will attend the July 11-12 summit and travel to the U.K. afterward and meet with British Prime Minister Theresa May, Mailonline.com reported Friday.

The Trump-May meeting is tentatively scheduled for July 14, according to the report.

In addition, the president could meet Queen Elizabeth II "or other senior members of the royal family, even though it is not a state visit," Mailonline.com reported.

May's administration did not comment on Trump possibly visiting Britain.

He initially planned to visit the U.K. last year, including to open a new U.S. embassy in London in February, but the trip has experienced cancellations, delays and opposition from some British residents and politicians.

May visited the White House in January — and she and Trump worked together on last week's Syrian airstrikes on President Bashar al-Assad's chemical weapons operations.
