Democrats want want Congress to impeach President Donald Trump and to protect their healthcare, according to a new Reuters/Ipsos poll released Thursday.
The poll of 904 Democrats and 840 Republicans was conducted from Oct. 30 to Nov. 5, just before Tuesday's midterm elections resulted in Democrats taking control of the House, and showed 43 percent of Democrats wanted impeachment as the top priority.
However, the main priority among respondents was that Congress should first address the United States' healthcare system, with 54 percent of Democrats and 55 percent of Republicans saying that was their priority concern.
However, overall, just 24 percent of the respondents said that impeaching Trump was among their first three goals for the new Congress.

18 percent of Democrats wanted Trump's tax returns reviewed, with 11 percent saying that was a priority.

Democrats' third-most priority, by 40 percent of respondents, was the environment.

54 percent of Republicans said their priority was border security

37 percent of Republicans prioritized cutting taxes.
Meanwhile, one in four Democrats said they want Congress to protect special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into Russian collusion.
The poll carried a credibility interval of 4 percentage points for Democrats.
