Robert Kraft, the billionaire owner of the New England Patriots football team, was spotted at Trump Tower on Wednesday, The Hill reported.
The sighting sparked rumors the business magnate met with fellow billionaire and president-elect Donald Trump, but it was not immediately clear why Kraft was there.
If the two did powwow, there was plenty to talk about following the fuss kicked up by several members of the Patriots who have praised Trump.
At one of his pre-election rallies, Trump read a letter from Patriots head coach Bill Belichick, who made favorable comments about the real-estate tycoon's leadership qualities.
Belichick later insisted the comments were "not politically motivated" and more about his "friendship and loyalty to Donald."
Trump also said he received the support of Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.
Kraft has called Trump "a very close friend of mine for over two decades," but Kraft did not officially endorse him.
