Palin to Santorum: 'Good On Ya' for Criticism of NY Times Reporter

By    |   Tuesday, 27 March 2012 11:33 AM EDT

Former Alaska GOP Gov. Sarah Palin stands 100 percent behind Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum for accusing a New York Times reporter of “bull***t” over the weekend.

“Welcome to my world, Rick, and good on ya. Don’t retreat,” the 2008 GOP vice presidential candidate told Greta Van Susteren of Fox News, Politico reports. ”It was good, and it was strong. It was about time, because he’s saying enough is enough of the liberal media twisting the conservative words, putting words in his mouth, taking things out of context, and even just making things up.”

The dust-up came at a campaign stop in Wisconsin Saturday. Santorum got upset at Times reporter Jeff Zeleny when he kept badgering the former Pennsylvania senator about his earlier comment that rival candidate Mitt Romney was “the worst Republican in the country to put up against Barack Obama.” Santorum responded, “Quit distorting my words. It’s bull***t.”

Palin said Santorum was merely explaining to voters that Romney will “have his hands full” opposing President Barack Obama’s healthcare reform law in a general election matchup because the former Massachusetts governor has been “dubbed the father of Obamacare.” Palin labeled Zeleny “that liberal leftist in the tank for Obama.”
