President Donald Trump’s former political aide Omarosa Manigault Newman is now reportedly doling out personal advice to jailed ex-Trump lawyer Michael Cohen.
One of the topics the pair bonded over is their feelings about their ex-boss, according to the New York Post, which cited an unnamed source, and is “helping him get through this since they share a common disdain for the president.”
“She apparently has taken on the role of his personal adviser/coach,” the source told the Post, adding Omarosa was seen visiting Trump’s former fixer at the Otisville Federal Correctional Institution in Otisville, N.Y., around late June.
According to the Post, the visit created a buzz — but then again, Cohen’s presence has been full of surprises.
“One of the first days that Michael Cohen was at Otisville, the whole entire prison was on lockdown for a few hours because of a drone that was flying over the grounds taking photos,” the source told the Post.
"Michael stays busy playing tennis and just biding his time,” the source added.
Omarosa has been a Cohen defender since he went on trial for campaign violations and fraud. He began serving a three-year sentence in May.
In an MSNBC interview in August 2018, Omarosa said it was "really difficult for me to watch people try to demonize Michael Cohen when he was just doing what he was told.”
The former reality star of “The Apprentice” declined to comment to the Post, but her lawyer, John Phillips told the news outlet that “We are in the process of naming and interviewing witnesses in her cases and would expect Michael Cohen to be one.”
