Just days after joining Twitter, O.J. Simpson is being accused of sending threatening messages – with knife emojis – to a parody Twitter account that pokes fun at the disgraced Hall of Fame footballer. The series of direct messages were sent from Simpson's official Twitter page, on Sunday, the Daily Mail reported.
The parody account, @KillerOJSimpson, posted videos showing the exchanges, which grew increasingly violent in nature. Simpson served nine years in a Nevada prison on robbery charges and was released in 2017.
It has not taken the Juice long to run into scandal again. In the first direct message to the parody account, Simpson's account demanded the parody page be deleted but when the person behind the parody account brushed off the request, the ensuing message fired from Simpson's account became aggressive.
"Like I said, delete this 'Parody' account as you call it or face serious consequences by me. I'll find your a– one way or another so don't mess with me. I got nothing to lose. Grow up!" the DM read, according to the New York Post.
In a second video posted three hours later by the parody account, the narrator explained how the threatening messages continued to pour in.
"Seen that video you posted about me. You think I'm playing?" one message from Simpson's account read. "Tired of all your bulls–t. I WILL FIND YOUR A– AND CUT YOU — Don't believe me? Just watch and see b––," another message said.
Simpson was acquitted of the 1994 murders his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman. They were brutally stabbed together. In a later civil case, Simpson was found liable for the murders and a $33.5 million judgment was entered against him.
After Simpson's account sent the threatening message to "cut" the person behind the parody account, he received a response that said, in part, "You gonna cut me? Awesome. Is that what you said to Nicole?" the New York Post noted. The next message from Simpson's account contained a string of 16 knife emojis and simply said "you next."
It is not clear whether Simpson was behind the messages or whether his account, which was launched last week, was hacked or controlled by someone else. However, a spokeswoman for the Nevada Department of Public Safety said they were looking into the accusations which, if proven true, could violate Simpson's parole.
"If there is an alleged violation, an investigation will be conducted and appropriate actions will be taken by the Division and the Parole Board," spokeswoman Kim Smith said, according to the New York Post.
