President Barack Obama has attached numbers to his jobs bill.
The big number is 1.9 million jobs,
USAToday reports.
At a Thursday night fundraiser, Obama said his proposal would create millions jobs and reduce the staggering 9.1% unemployment rate by at least a percentage point.
He thinks the plan would add two percentage points to the GDP, as well, but it all hinges on Congress.
"The Republicans in the House, their natural instinct right now is not to engage in the kind of cooperation that we'd like to see," Obama said.
The projections appear to repeat the same ones made by Mark Zandi, chief economist at Moody's Analystics. But, USA Today points out, Zandi also criticized the plan for ignoring home foreclosure "crisis."
