Nikki Haley: All the Palestinians Have Done From DC Mission Is 'Ask for Money'

U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley on Wednesday defended the Trump administration’s decision to close the Palestinian diplomatic mission, saying “all they’ve done is” ask for money.

In an interview aired on Fox News’ “Special Report,” Haley said the administration was right to close down the mission for the refusal of Palestinian leaders to enter into peace talks with Israel.

“All they've done is [have] their hand out asking for money, badmouth the United States, not come to the table on the peace deal — why would we have a [Palestinian Liberation Organization] office,” she said. “”Why would we continue to fund the Palestinians? “

Haley said it’s now “totally up to the Palestinians.”

“If the leadership came to the table, automatically you're going to have a peace plan…. The Palestinians have more to gain than Israel ever will,” she said.

But she added if Palestinians continue to spurn meetings, “this isn't going to stop our work on the peace deal, we are moving forward and continue to push it. We will continue to hope they see the error of what they've done and come back to the table and we will welcome them when they do.”
