Five people were shot and injured on New Orleans' famous Bourbon Street early Saturday morning, with no arrests having been made a few hours after the incident.

The shootings were reported to city police at about 1:16 a.m. local time near an address on the edge of the French Quarter, CNN reported.

Police spokesman Aaron Looney said the injuries were not believed to have been life-threatening.

"At this time, there are 5 confirmed victims in this incident: 2 victims who arrived at a local hospital, 2 who were transported to a local hospital via EMS, and 1 who was treated at the scene," Looney said, according to New Orleans CBS affiliate WWL-TV.  "Investigation is ongoing. No additional information is currently available."

The shooting was reported in the 300 block of Bourbon Street, between Bienville and Conti streets, The Advocate in New Orleans reported.

Police reported 2 men were arguing, leading to a shootout that left injuries to 3 men, ages 60, 23, and 29, a 20-year-old woman, and another woman, whose age was not reported.

Looney said further details about the shooting, or if there were leads about who had fired the shots, were not available, and the incident is under investigation, CNN reported.
