Mitt Romney and Barack Obama remain in a tight battle in the Granite State, a new poll shows.
The WMUR Granite State Poll, conducted both before and after Romney's announcement of his running mate, showed that 49 percent favor Obama and 46 percent support Romney,
CNN reports.
The race is a statistical tie, well within the plus or minus 4.2 percent margin of error.
The poll was conducted mostly before Romney made his announcement of a running mate, Paul Ryan of Wisconsin.
The poll is virtually unchanged from a July poll which showed 49 percent of registered New Hampshire voters favored Obama to Romney's 45 percent.
The poll also indicated that 7 out of 10 New Hampshire voters have made up their minds on who they will vote for.
