Islamic extremists are threatening to kill a Turkish Muslim actress who appeared nude in Playboy. Sila Sahin, 25, says she agreed to the shoot for the German edition of the skin mag as a reaction to the “slavery” of her childhood, reports
Britain’s Sun newspaper.
But she has been threatened on Islamist websites for “prostituting herself for money,” and “shaming Muslim women.” The German intelligence agency is monitoring the sites for threats.
One poster on JihadWatch wrote: "She needs to be very careful . . . " Another simply said: "She must pay."
And a kebob shop owner who was asked on German TV what he would do if Sahin were his daughter replied: “I would kill her. I really mean that. That doesn’t fit with my culture.”
Sahin, who stars on the German soap opera “Good Times, Bad Times,” said: "For years, I subordinated myself to various societal constraints. The Playboy photo shoot was a total act of liberation.
"What I want to say with these photos is, 'Girls, we don't have to live according to the rules imposed upon us.’”
Sahin, who appeared topless on the cover of the magazine and fully nude in a 12-page spread inside, says she now fears she will be spat at and shamed. Her mother reportedly has cut off all contact with her.
