President Donald Trump's administration plans to provide families as well as law enforcement with the "tools" to address people with health issues that could lead them to commit violence, Vice President Mike Pence said Wednesday.Pence made the comments during a speech at Kennedy Space Center in Florida, Roll Call reported.

Pence gave no specifics about the cost or other details such as whether the administration might seek emergency funding on the issue, Roll Call's report said.

On Friday, Pence spoke about the Florida school shootings during a Republican National Committee event, CNN reported.

Pence said Friday that the administration would "continue to bring the full resources of the federal government to bear in support of the Broward County Sheriff's Office and in support of this investigation," according to CNN.

The Justice Department is working alongside other agencies "to study the intersection of mental health and criminality," Pence added.

"No parent should ever have to fear for their sons and daughters when they kiss them goodbye in the morning," said Pence, a father of three, at the RNC event, CNN reported.
