Ex-New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg has slipped past Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., in a new national poll, putting him in third place in the race for the Democratic Party's presidential nomination.

According to the latest Hill-HarrisX poll, released Thursday, Bloomberg's support climbed by 4 points since a Jan. 13-14 poll to 11%. Warren, meanwhile, dropped by 2 points to 9%. She peaked in October at 19%.

Former Vice President Joe Biden maintained a double-digit lead, with 29% support:

  • Biden 29%.
  • Sen. Bernie Sanders 17%.
  • Bloomberg 11%.
  • Pete Buttigieg 5%.
  • Andrew Yang and Tom Steyer 4%.
  • The remaining candidates polled at 2% or less.

The Hill-HarrisX survey was conducted through 878 people Jan. 20-22 and carried a margin of error of plus or minus 3.3 percentage points.

Biden and Sanders have been running close in recent weeks for the top spot in Iowa, according to several different polls. In an Emerson poll released Sunday, Sanders was in the top spot with 30% to Biden's 21%. Saturday, a New York Times/Siena poll also showed Sanders in the lead, with Sanders at 25% to Biden's 17%.
