Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., on Monday criticized Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., for a tweet condemning House Republican leaders after a mass shooting Saturday in Buffalo, New York.

Cheney, in a tweet shortly after the shooting, said that “The House GOP leadership has enabled white nationalism, white supremacy, and anti-semitism. History has taught us that what begins with words ends in far worse. @GOP leaders must renounce and reject these views and those who hold them.”

A gunman killed 10 people and injured at a supermarket in Buffalo. Law enforcement said after the shooting that the crime appeared to be racially motivated. The alleged shooter, 18-year-old Payton Gendron, is white. Most of the victims were Black.

Gendron also allegedly made posts online espousing white supremacist theories, such as “the idea that white people are being intentionally replaced,” according to The Washington Post.

Cheney did not mention Greene or any members of the House in her tweet, but Greene responded by saying: “Now the Dems make you tweet their divisive and dangerous lies, all so you can raise money from Democrat donors as you try to cling to your seat. And you actually comply. How pathetic.”

Greene previously came under fire after speaking in February at a far-right conference with ties to white supremacists, which she later defended as an event for “canceled Americans,” according to HuffPost.
