The Marine Corps marked the graduation of the first woman from its infantry officer course on Monday by releasing a video showing her and others in training, The Hill reported.
"One hundred thirty-one Marines started Infantry Officer Course 4-17 in July," the video noted. "Today 88 graduated. The first woman to complete the Infantry Officer Course is among them."
Throughout the video, a woman is seen in training, but the Marine Corps is not releasing her name.
A man, identified by the Hill as Commandant of the Marine Corps Gen. Robert Neller, appears in the video and congratulates her and the 87 other graduates.
"Well done," he said. "Proud of you. But that's just the first step. Now you're going to go out there in the operating forces and we're going to give you the responsibility for a platoon of infantry Marines, and do your very best to lead them."
He also praised the woman and the others who graduated in a Twitter post.
