Not listening to the working-class voter and living under heavy and costly government regulation are eras that have come to an end after the election of Donald Trump, said Fox Business host Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo, who personally vowed to "better under the population."
"Obviously the elites, the establishment, the media, they had no idea what the people wanted and had no idea where the people were in terms of economic issues, in particular, jobs," she told host John Catsimatidis on Sunday's "The Cats Roundtable."
Promise of economic growth, regulatory rollback and rising U.S. financial markets show strength — which Bartiromo attributed to Trump's recent election — before a potential quarter-point interest rate increase by the Federal Reserve on Wednesday of this week.
"Businesses are sitting on cash because, before the election, they didn't know what was around the corner," she said. "They were getting just strangled by regulations."
The election has given rise to the U.S. stock market, something that might cool after interest-rate increases, but the trends will still be pointing up under Trump's "growth plan," she added.
