Florida Sen. Marco Rubio said Wednesday he will release charge card records in the next few weeks from his time in the Florida Legislature after his GOP presidential rival brought up the allegations from his past.

Speaking to reporters in Manchester, New Hampshire, Rubio dismissed the allegations.

"It's been coming up for five years," Rubio said, according to a report at The Washington Post.

During Rubio's 2010 run for the U.S. Senate, his past use of a state Republican Party card came up, as did other personal finance issues.

"It wasn't a credit card, it was a charge card," Rubio said Wednesday. "It was American Express. And every month I would get a bill in my home, and I would review it. And if it was something on it that was personal, I would pay it. And if it wasn't, the party paid it."

Charge cards differ from credit cards in that while they have no credit limit, the balance must be paid if full every month.

Rubio said he would do things differently if given the chance.

"I just wouldn't have done any personal things on it because I would have avoided all that confusion it's created in the minds of some," he said.

As for Trump's attacks on him over his finances, Rubio said, "I don't know what he's talking about. I don't have any debt except the mortgage on my home."

Trump, he added, "always gets weird whenever his poll numbers go down. He kind of goes off a little bit. I guess that's what's happening. We'll focus on our campaign and we'll pray for Donald that he'll find some peace."
