Social Media Followers Destroy Lori Loughlin's Daughter After Cheating Scandal

Social Media Followers Destroy Lori Loughlin's Daughter After Cheating Scandal

By    |   Wednesday, 13 March 2019 11:03 AM EDT

Lori Loughlin’s daughter Olivia Jade Giannulli is being destroyed online by social media followers who once helped turn her into a “personal brand” after news broke that her parents were criminally charged in a scandal that saw them pay thousands of dollars in bribes to get her admitted to the University of Southern California.

The 19-year-old influencer, who has over 1.3 million followers on Instagram and nearly 2 million subscribers on YouTube, was forced to disable all comments to her Instagram account after being bombarded with scathing remarks, USA Today reported.

However, the comments on her YouTube channel continued to roll in amid the controversy of Loughlin’s indictment.

"How does it feel to be accepted to a school you paid your way to get into?" one follower commented.

"Unlike you, I worked incredibly hard for my 99th-percentile SAT and ACT scores," remarked another subscriber, Chloe Cadarette. "I applied to USC with the intention of furthering a quality education. I don’t have the privilege to TANK my scores and academics, only to have mommy-dearest swoop in and save me. You took spots away from real qualified students so you could "party" and "go to games." Shameful."

Other fans and followers on social media accused Olivia of cheating her way into the University of Southern California, where she is currently in her first year.

"Can you give us a video on how to get into colleges without trying... like how to fake test scores and stuff like that," commented a YouTube user.

As of Wednesday, Olivia had not responded to the debacle but before the scandal broke she revealed how important it was for her parents that she attended university.

"Mostly my parents really wanted me to go because both of them didn’t go to college," she said on the Zach Sang radio show Friday, according to Yahoo. Days later it was revealed that Loughlin and her husband, designer Mossimo Giannulli, in 2016 allegedly bribed Olivia's way into college, along with her sister, Isabella Giannulli.
