Popular radio talk show host Laura Ingraham’s new book “Power to the People” takes a stark look at a ravaged American cultural landscape and urges everyday people to use their power to effect change.
Part memoir, part “cultural manifesto,” the offers a battle plan to remake America the way she says the Founding Fathers intended – strong, patriotic, pro-family, and God-fearing.
Ingraham – whose syndicated program “The Laura Ingraham Show” is heard by more than 6 million listeners every week – rails against:
Schools that waste class time teaching transgenderism and offer courses on “Lesbian Pulp Fiction,” while giving short shrift to the U.S. victory over Soviet totalitarianism. The “pornification” of the culture that has seen smut proliferate in films, on TV, in magazines and on the Internet. The celebrity of “no-name heiress” and “nonstop party girl” Paris Hilton – and the success of Madonna with her “sexualized lyrics and trampy clothes.” The “PlayStation Parenting” of mothers and fathers who outsource their duties while they focus on their own goals. The “Church of the Apocalyptic Manmade Global Warming,” with Al Gore as its chief “evangelist.”In her book, Ingraham details how she helped derail the Supreme Court nomination of Harriet Miers and thwart “comprehensive immigration reform,” and cost a foul-mouthed ex-con rapper a multi-million-dollar concert sponsorship.
And Laura puts forth a “10-Step Solution” to return power to the people, including:
“Have a clear moral vision. Men like Pope John Paul II and Ronald Reagan were able to withstand the elite-driven mistakes of their time because they had a strong sense of right and wrong. We should follow their example. This is no time to drop our guard and permit our values to be trampled underfoot.”
Ingraham’s book “Shut Up & Sing: How the Elites in Hollywood, Politics, and the UN Are Subverting America” was a New York Times bestseller.
