An eerie video shows Stephen Paddock in a relaxed mood and calmly strolling about the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas — just days before he horrifically used an arsenal of assault weapons to slaughter 58 people from his 32nd-floor suite.

The video, obtained by The New York Times from MGM Resorts, depicts Paddock as a "polite, unhurried, unmemorable" guest as interacts with staff, eyes a video poker machine and buys snacks at a gift shop.

"The casually dressed V.I.P. with the many suitcases … jokes with bellhops, chats with valets and gives out tips along with handshakes," the Times says in its description of the video, filmed in the days before Sept. 30th massacre.

"Over and over in the clips, Mr. Paddock is seen leaving the Mandalay Bay for his home in Mesquite, returning with a dark minivan loaded with suitcases. Over and over, valets … helping him transport at least 21 bags over the course of seven days.

"As they take the service elevator upstairs, Mr. Paddock chats with them. He cracks a joke. He tips. They have no idea that the suitcases they are so conscientiously carrying are full of guns and ammunition."

After his attack, Paddock, 64, committed suicide in his hotel room. The incident is the deadliest mass shooting by a lone gunman in United States history.
