Congress would most likely approve the U.S.-Mexico-Canada (USMCA) trade deal if House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., brings it to the floor for a vote, and passing it will make the United States' position in upcoming China trade deals even stronger, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., said Thursday.

However, if the deal is not approved by Thanksgiving, McCarthy is concerned it will not be passed, McCarthy told Fox Business' "Mornings With Maria."

"Then the decision will have been made, by the speaker, that it was a political decision and not about the country," said McCarthy, adding if it's not passed, then it will show that the priority is to tear down President Donald Trump rather than building America up.

"Everyone will tell you that at the minimum, (there will be) 180,000 more jobs," McCarthy said.

"The GDP goes up, we are stronger in negotiations, so I don't understand who out there is saying no to this," said McCarthy. "I don't hear the speaker saying she against it."

Meanwhile, it seems as if the whole world is waiting for Pelosi to decide what she wants to do, including China, he said.
