Kellyanne Conway: 'Squad' Represents 'Dark Underbelly' of United States

By    |   Tuesday, 16 July 2019 01:41 PM EDT

The White House is "sick and tired" of many people in the United States, and the four congresswomen who came under fire from President Donald Trump represent a "dark underbelly" in the United States, presidential counselor Kellyanne Conway argued Tuesday.

"These four are distinctive for one important reason," Conway told Fox News' "America's Newsroom." "(They were) the only four Democrats to vote against any form of humanitarian aid at the border They have no moral authority to talk about the border and the kids and the humanitarian crisis there."

Beyond that, she said, the White House is tired of people who do not respect the troops, and the lawmakers, Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, and Ayanna Pressley, have voted against military aid and more.

"We're helping veterans in this White House," said Conway adding that the administration is tired of people "kneeling for the flag out of disrespect. We're tired of some of these women palling around with terrorists. One of them is in pictures with somebody who was responsible for the murder of three Israeli soldiers. Where is the press? Stop being so afraid of and adoring of four people who got here a few short months ago."

Conway said she has been working on healthcare and prescription drug pricing and the White House is focused on that.

Meanwhile, Trump has explained what he meant by the tweets, said Conway.

"He explained if you don't like it here get out," said Conway. "That goes way beyond these four people."
