Outgoing Ohio Gov. John Kasich, a Republican, took aim at President Donald Trump during a speech in New Hampshire this week, saying he has not been a “unifier” for the country, The Hill reports.

Kasich gave a speech Thursday evening at the Loeb School’s First Amendment Gala in Manchester, New Hampshire. The governor, who is rumored to be considering a presidential bid in 2020, said that he “held out the hope for a couple years” that Trump could unify the country, but is “now convinced he can’t.”

He accused Trump of playing “the blame game” instead of focusing on how to solve problems, and said that he “has allowed people to consider themselves victims

“What I have resented and disliked about the president is instead of being a unifier and someone who can dig deep into people’s problems and say ‘yes those are problems, but together we can fix them,’ he has played a blame game,” he said.

Kasich said that his criticism is “not personal, I just completely disagree with it,” and he said that “it’s not just the president letting us down, it’s politicians across the board who have not shown the leadership qualities of putting somebody else before them and their political career.”
