Shelby Pierson, the election security official who told members of Congress without proof that Russia is interfering in this year's election in support of President Donald Trump, should be fired, according to Joe diGenova on Newsmax TV.
And House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff broke the law by leaking the meeting to the press, diGenova, the former U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia, added.
"This is amazing," he told Monday's "The Howie Carr Show." "This is like a matinee followed by the evening performance."
Pierson told members of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, behind closed doors in a "fraudulent briefing," her story about Russia. When Richard Grenell, the newly appointed Director of National Intelligence heard about it, he called all in to demand what the factual basis was behind her claim, diGenova said.
"They go to his office and they tell him there is no intelligence to back up this prediction," he said. "We are told today that Shelby Pierson is really a supporter of President Trump. No, she is a subversive and she should be fired."
But Grenell is a "killer" who will "tolerate none of this stuff from these people," said diGenova.
Further, he rejected the "cover story" that outgoing DNI Joe Maguire was only leaving earlier than his original departure date in mid-March.
"He was removed from the job because of this briefing by this woman on Capitol Hill and four other people from the ODNI," diGenova said.
"He didn't tell the White House," he added. "He didn't tell the president. He didn't tell the national security adviser. How can you let that happen? You have to be either the most corrupt person in the world, or dumb as a post, and neither one is acceptable in a DNI And that's why he's gone and why Grenell is there."
Meanwhile, evidence has been mounting against Schiff for years, diGenova said.
"There ought to be a grand jury subpoena issued to everybody involved in that briefing," he said, adding "Adam Schiff committed a crime when he leaked it. It was to smear the president."
