Rep. Jim Jordan Thursday said he agrees "100 percent" with President Donald Trump that House Republicans should have subpoenaed more people to testify about the origins of the extensive Russia investigation.
"The fact is, we are where we are," the Ohio Republican told Fox News' "Fox and Friends."
"Here's the bottom line. The president was falsely accused of collusion. The question is, do you investigate the false investigation, or to investigate something Bob Mueller spent 22 months investigating and said there was nothing there?"
Trump told Fox News host Sean Hannity Wednesday night that while House Speaker Nancy Pelosi hands out subpoenas "like cookies," when Republicans controlled the House and people like Jordan wanted to subpoena someone, then-Speaker Paul Ryan wouldn't allow the subpoenas.
Democrats will keep subpoenaing people and holding impeachment hearings, even if they don't officially call them that, said Jordan, even though Mueller concluded "there was nothing there."
The congressman said his constituents and people around the country often ask him when someone will be going to jail, because "the American people know" what took place in the upper echelon of the FBI during Trump's election.
"They also want us to address the crisis on the border," said Jordan. "They love the fact that the economy is going and all those other things and would like the Democrats to focus on that instead of continuing their investigation."
Trump on Thursday also told Hannity that it's trying to be determined if there were people listening into his calls, and Jordan said he is sure Attorney General William Barr will get to the bottom of the surveillance that was taking place.
