Corsi to Newsmax TV: 'Indicting Me Now Would Be Malicious'

(Newsmax TV's "The Joe Pags Show")

Jerome Corsi, an associate of political consultant Roger Stone who was caught up in special counsel Robert Mueller's Russia investigation last year, told Newsmax TV on Wednesday night he believes Mueller is finished pursuing him.

"I think I'm done. I think indicting me now would be malicious, especially after I've sued them," Corsi told "The Joe Pags Show."

"The one count they wanted me to plead guilty to was the first day's testimony when I forgot some emails. I amended that testimony, and they weren't admitting that I amended the testimony. [If] that's the best they had, Mueller's got nothing on me, because I did not lie. And now even [WikiLeaks founder Julian] Assange says I was telling the truth and was not in contact with him at all."

Corsi has confirmed he spent more than 40 hours meeting with Mueller's team during portions of 2018 as the special counsel probes whether the Trump campaign had an improper link to Russia. Corsi, the author of the book "Silent No More: How I Became a Political Prisoner of Mueller's 'Witch Hunt," said he had no contact with Assange and made predictions regarding WikiLeaks' 2016 data dumps about Democrats using his skills as a journalist, not through inside information.

Assange claimed this week he did not have any contact with Corsi, particularly in 2016 during the heat of the presidential campaign.

"I haven't been indicted, and I haven't heard from Mueller, so I don't know what they're doing," said Corsi, who said in November he feared Mueller would indict him after he turned down a plea deal for lying to the FBI. "I was very encouraged this week when Julian Assange put out a statement and said he had not talked to me.

"That confirms that I was not lying to the special counselor's prosecutors."
