Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush leads the GOP presidential field according to a new
NBC News/Wall Street Journal national poll.
The results according to the poll:
- Jeb Bush 23 percent
- Marco Rubio 18 percent
- Scott Walker 14 percent
- Ted Cruz 11 percent
- Rand Paul 11 percent
- Ben Carson 7 percent
- Mike Huckabee 5 percent
- Chris Christie 5 percent
- Rick Perry 2 percent
- Carly Fiorina 1 percent
While Bush holds a 5-point lead over Rubio in the poll, the Florida senator can take solace in the fact that when the 251 Republican primary voters were asked to indicate the candidate who would be their second choice, Rubio bested Bush by 9 points, 23-14 percent.
The poll was conducted April 26-30 and has an overall margin of error of plus or minus 3.1 percentage points. The margin of error among Republican primary voters was plus or minus 6.2 percentage points.
