A "violent deportee" has been identified by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement after escaping from custody at John F. Kennedy airport in New York, Fox News reports.
Mohamadou Lamine Mbacke, a 31-year-old man from Senegal, allegedly fled from immigration authorities after having his handcuffs removed while going through security at the airport, where he was being deported.
"Mbacke entered the country lawfully in 2005 before violating the terms of his status. He was ordered deported in September 2015 by an immigration judge," ICE said in a statement. "Mbacke has previous criminal convictions for multiple weapons and firearms offenses."
He was later seen on surveillance footage leaving the area in a taxi. He is no longer seen as a threat to airport passengers.
