Barack Obama’s radical policies and appointees endanger America’s standing in the world, says policy advocate and author David Horowitz.
Horowitz, founder and president of the David Horowitz Freedom Center, describes Obama as the “most inexperienced radical and divisive president in America’s history” in his pamphlet titled, “Obama’s Professor and America’s Cultural Crisis.”
He takes particular issue with several of Obama’s appointees, most notably Solicitor General Elena Kagan, Obama’s nominee for the Supreme Court.
Kagan should be dropped from consideration because of her refusal to allow military recruiters at Harvard Law School and her opposition to the high court’s Citizens United decision against a ban on corporate political spending, Horowitz tells Newsmax.TV.
The story continues below the video.
“Elena Kagan is a radical, she’s is a left-winger, and therefore she’s anti-military,” Horowitz says. “It’s just amazing to me that these leftists think gays in the military is a civil-rights issue.
“We could say, ‘Let’s have paraplegics in the military,’ and ‘There’s really no reason to keep them out since to launch a missile is pushing a button,’ ” Horowitz says. “The reason the military is uncomfortable with gays in the military is unit cohesion.”
Introducing two people of the same gender who are sexually attracted to each other into the same unit is a bad idea for the same reason having women in combat is a bad idea because it undermines unit cohesion, Horowitz says.
“It’s not something that I oppose because I think there are individual women who are capable of intimidating people and killing them, but sex is a very powerful force, and it plays havoc with the unit cohesion, which actually is what the military’s all about,” he says. “You fight as a team and as cogs in a team.
“If you have a member of the team with an erotic attraction to another member of the team, it will mess with the war plan, which is what denying them access to Harvard students is.”
Horowitz likewise takes Undersecretary of State Michael Posner to task for apologizing to the communist Chinese for Arizona’s law aimed at cracking down on illegal immigration, when China itself has an abysmal human-rights record.
“It’s obvious he hasn’t read the Arizona law, which merely enforces federal law at the state level because at the federal level government has shown that it doesn’t want to do it,” Horowitz says. “No country can exist without borders, and that is really what this battle is all about. It’s about asserting American sovereignty over its borders.
This is especially important because of the threat from Mexican criminals and Islamic terrorists, Horowitz warns.
“Posner is a menace because no secretary of state should be humbling himself before as ruthless and vicious of an enemy as the Chinese communist regime is,” he says. “The communists sent the troops to climb 10,000-foot mountains to destroy thousand-year-old monasteries because of their religious bigotry and hatred.
“The Chinese are aggressors,” Horowitz says. “They are a totalitarian state, and it’s an extraordinary embarrassment to have a United States official in essence apologizing to them for our alleged flaws, even if they were flaws, and the Arizona law is not a flaw.”
When asked about Attorney General Eric Holder’s vow to challenge the Arizona immigration law, although he admits he has never read it, Horowitz says that demonstrates that many Obama administration officials should be fired.
“Holder is unable to identify our enemies,” Horowitz says. “We’ve had a major terrorist attack by Major Hassan on a base screaming, ‘Allahu ackbar,’ and when Eric Holder is asked that maybe this terrorist act is connected to religious beliefs doesn’t know.
“What is this man doing as attorney general? I think he should be fired.”
In other aspects of the wide-ranging interview, Horowitz observes:
• Obama has brought Chicago-style politics to a new height by transferring a “thuggish” form of politics to Washington.
• If Obama continues to spend at the pace he has since taking office, it will bankrupt the nation and trigger hyperinflation.
• The tea party movement is the most positive in this country in the past 50 years because it involves ordinary people becoming part of the process between elections that determines future ones.
• Obama’s pattern of “appeasement” could lead to wars in the Middle East involving nations such as Iran because of its looming nuclear program.
