Most Americans think Hillary Clinton hasn't been honest about the State Department's role in the deadly Benghazi terror strike, though voters are split over whether Congress should continue its probe of the former secretary of state's handling of the attack, according to a new poll.

In the Fox News poll released Thursday, 60 percent of respondents said the Democratic presidential candidate has been deceitful about the State Department's role in the deadly Sept. 11, 2012, attack, while 32 percent said she's been honest, and 8 percent say they "don't know."

In a breakdown by party, the poll finds:
  • 58 percent of Democrats think Clinton's being honest about Benghazi; 30 percent think she's deceitful; 12 percent say they "don't know"
  • 10 percent of Republicans thinks she's honest; 86 percent think she's deceitful; 4 percent say they "don't know"
Clinton's polling on her honesty in the Benghazi matter compares with a Fox News survey last May that showed:
  • 50 percent thought Clinton was deceitful
  • 40 percent thought she was honest
  • 10 percent said they "don't know"
On the question of a continued investigation of the matter by Congress, the new poll shows:
  • 46 percent want the probe continued
  • 50 percent say lawmakers should "move on"
  • 4 percent say they "don't know"
Breaking down the question by party, the poll finds:
  • 19 percent of Democrats want a continued investigation, and 75 percent want lawmakers to "move on"
  • 74 percent of Republicans want a continued probe, while 23 percent want Congress to "move on"
The poll's margin of error is plus or minus 3 percentage points.
