A new project aims to document Hillary Clinton's email investigation on film by reenacting the depositions of her aides.

Called "Clinton Emails on Film," the project is spearheaded by director Phelim McAleer.

"Hillary Clinton's staff are currently giving depositions under oath about how she got away with having an allegedly illegal private email server when conducting matters of national security," an email about the project reads.

"The depositions are being filmed, but Hillary's lawyers have managed to persuade a judge to block the release of the tapes in case they are used to make her look bad in the election!"

The film project will use the transcripts of Clinton aides' depositions with Judicial Watch, which has brought a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit regarding Clinton's use of a private email system while she was secretary of state.

"This is amazing and unacceptable — that films showing the truth are being blocked from the American people, especially in the run-up to an election," the email reads. "But we have a way around this … The deposition transcripts have been released and we are re-enacting and filming highlights of the depositions."

The first of five videos, a highlight reel of Cheryl Mills' recent deposition, is complete.

McAleer and his staff are seeking crowdfunding support to help make the rest of the project a reality. As of Thursday afternoon, the project had raised more than $15,000 of its $84,000 goal.

"I'm a journalist and here was a story of the truth not being allowed to be shown. I just have to get the story out there," McAleer told Newsmax.

"I want the truth of these depositions to be known by as many people across the U.S. as possible. These are verbatim films, no additions. The truth is compelling."

McAleer has also been involved in films about fracking and abortion, and a play about the 2014 Ferguson shooting.
