Harvey Weinstein, the Hollywood producer accused of rape and sexual assault by more than 80 women, has hired lawyers who in the past represented Casey Anthony, Kobe Bryant, and Aaron Hernandez, The New York Times reports.

Weinstein is facing trial on sexual assault charges. His trial could begin in May.

Jose Baez, Harvard Law professor Ronald Sullivan, Duncan Levin, and Pamela Robillard Mackey have been brought on to defend Weinstein.

Baez gained notoriety in 2011 for defending Anthony, who was acquitted on charges she murdered her 2-year-old daughter. Sullivan also worked with Baez in 2017 to defend Hernandez, a former NFL football player charged with double homicide, and Rose McGowan, who last June was indicted by a grand jury on a class-5 felony charge of possession of a controlled substance. McGowan pleaded no contest. Hernandez was found not guilty.

Robillard Mackey represented former NBA superstar Bryant in 2003 after he was accused of rape.

"Mr. Weinstein steadfastly maintains his innocence in this matter and we are looking forward to assisting Mr. Weinstein in his defense," Sullivan said in a statement to the Times.
