Giuliani Plans Pushback on Mueller Over Obstruction of Justice Query

Rudy Giuliani says he's preparing to push back on special counsel in a letter about the obstruction of justice questions it seeks to ask President Donald Trump, telling The Washington Post he has a "real reluctance" to allow it.

In an interview with the Post, Giuliani said the letter to Robert Mueller would go out this week, the latest salvo in the two sides' back and forth over a sit-down between Trump and the special counsel.

“We have a real reluctance about allowing any questions about obstruction,” Giuliani told the Post. "They are trying to get something on perjury and that’s not going to happen."

However, Giuliani told the Post that the letter is meant to "continue the negotiations," and that "the president still hasn't made a decision."

"And we’re not going to make a final decision just yet," Giuliani told the Post.

The letter being prepped by Giuliani and the legal team is in response to a letter sent by the Mueller team Monday, offering to limit the number of questions posed to Trump in person about obstruction of justice, proposing instead to ask some of those questions in written form, the Post reported.
